Question Microsoft Wired 600 Keyboard doesn't work on laptop ?

Hi guys,

Can you please help me on this?

I have an old laptop (Acer Aspire 5630), where I just did a fresh W10 install.

There are 2 rear USB ports, probably USB1.1 or USB2.0. I don't get any errors in the USB ports.

I have a base with a fan connected, fan works. I also have a mouse connected (HP X1200) and it works.

When I connect the Microsoft Wired 600 keyboard to any of those ports, it doesn't work, not even the Num Lock lights up.
I've tried a Thrust basic keyboard, same issue.

I've tried both keyboards on another (newer) laptop with W10, both work (recognized immediately and start to install the drivers).

The only thing I can come up with is that the USB don't give enough power to the keyboard, but the mouse works perfectly and the fan works (LED also lights up in the fan). I've also tried the extra USB port in the fan base and the keyboard doesn't work connected here either.

Any thoughts?

Thank you in advance.
