Hello, I hope I have the right forum....
I have the Microsoft wireless display adapter and am running windows 8.1 with all updates. I can connect no problem however I am limited to a max of 30MHz refresh rate which is very slow. If I plug directly in via HDMI I can run at 60MHz other posts I have read suggest that this is a limitation built in to Windows 8.1???? and the miracast technology. Does anyone know of a workaround?
Thanks
Mark

Possibly more info here:

"The refresh rate is expected behavior starting with Windows* 8.1 as the new Miracast* frame work in Windows* 8.1 will set the refresh rate to match the Intel® WiDi capture rate which is 30fps. In other words, 30 Hz is the maximum refresh rate by default using Miracast*. Using some lower resolutions may provide 60Hz in some cases, depending on the supported screen resolutions by the TV model."
When the Windows 8.1 update came out it rolled back miracast support to 30Mhz from what I have found researching this so far... However I am thinking there must be a solution somewhere

Solution
I was aware of this, however I thank you for posting. I am however trying to find a workaround. As apparently prior to 8.1 everything ran at 60Hz so hopefully there will be a workaround...... 30Hz is to slow
