Microsoft Wireless Mouse 3500 Problems

My Microsoft Wireless Mouse 3500 turns on...for a few seconds...then shuts down. I change the batteries to no avail. Anyone aware of this problem? Had the mouse just under two years.

I have had this mouse for under 2 months .. and I am facing the exact same problem. I just switch-on switch-off the mouse multiple times .. nd at times it works .. at others .. it just turns on for few seconds before shut down!

Really frustrating

Frankly, I don't know what happene, but I just changed from rechargeable batteries to alkaline and...no more problem!
