Microsoft's Power Service constantly uses 100% CPU

The Microsoft service titled "Power" in the msconfig services list constantly uses 100% CPU when enabled, even when the system is idle. I cannot figure out why, because when it is enabled, the Windows 10 power management options have the minimum and maximum CPU usage at it's default, respective values (5% & 100%). I've tried the Balanced Mode and the Performance Mode and the problem still persists.

I now currently have the service disabled and CPU idle usage is normal.
Does anyone know a fix?
If I have it remain disabled, can I not take advantage of the system's Power Management features?

Thank you in advance.

BIOS upgrading has become slightly easier in the last few years. what motherboard do you have and I can go find the instructions - they should be in the motherboard manual so if you have that you can go look now.

Its obviously a hardware problem if it still happens in safe mode so BIOS could be the key.

I've always been afraid to update to the latest bios, because a few years ago I attempted to do as such on my first computer and the installation process somehow hung which resulted in having to switch out my motherboard. All my drivers seem to be up-to-date.

Though I can confirm the issue persists in Safe Mode.

Right, no need to fetch instructions, I've found them already. The process does seem better with Windows 10 instant flash technique. I will get back to you and let you know if this fixes it, once I find time to update the bios.

I don't know what you have but some offer a way to upgrade bios from within Windows 10. I wouldn't use that method if PC is known to restart by itself as I would hate to have that happen half way through a flash. You should find it offers a way for you to download the bios file, put it on a USB and load into BIOS itself and run a tool from inside bios to flash it, less chance it restarts then as less devices running

I successfully updated the bios, but it seems I will not be able to get to the bottom of this issue myself for my SSD bricked the very same day I planned to update the bios. So it seems it's possible this issue was either a symptom of the drive failing, or something that lead to the drive failing. Either way, I appreciate the help. Thank you.
