Microstutter and Screen Tearing!

Hey!

Whenever I play games (Mainly Bethesda games, ie Fallout and Skyrim) I notice a really choppy movement system whenever I turn or walk. I use Razer Game Booster to check my FPS and it stays at 60. All settings are on max and everything works fine; however, this microstutter harshly spoils my gaming experience. More recently I've noticed it happening (no where near as much) on other games too! I wonder whether there's a fix to this? I've looked around and found mods and downloads etc, but none have worked...

Also, on games like Payday 2 I notice Screen Tearing, I cannot describe it but a simple search on Google brings up some excellent examples. So once again I'm asking if anyone may shed some light on my game ruining problems?

Thanks in advance.

Solution
For the stuttering, do you use a lot of mods that use scripting? If so it could be them updating every few seconds. Also, what kind of system do you have?

I have the same issue. Just recently upgraded all the components on my rig including a new GTX970 and I get pretty bad tearing right in the middle of my screen. Never had this problem before.

However, I did not change my monitor which leaves me to believe that it is a refresh rate issue between my old monitor and new GPU. My monitor is a LG 23" IPS display, model # 23EA63V I believe. With a refresh rate of 60Hz. I'm guessing the GPU is just sending its frames too fast for the monitor to handle? Don't know maybe somebody can chime in on this.

I read somewhere that a FPS caps my do the trick? Anybody have any experience with this?

BTW, I to have tried everything from reinstalling the drivers to overriding v-sync via catalyst control center (?sp). No luck.

FPS caps don't always fix the problem but in this case it seems like it would. Don't use v-sync unless you really have to; many games allow you to just set a cap through either in game menu, in game console, or through a file in the game folder.

Its probably a typo but do you have CCC still when your using a Nvidia GPU? That could defiantly cause a issue for conflicting drivers. Like hjj174 said try to disable V-sync and turn off any FPS caps in-game/control center and see if that helps.
