Hi!

So I now freshly installed Win11 on a 1TB kingston SSD and put games on a freshly bought 2TB SSD. I did this for a number of reasons but I low-key hoped it would make games run a bit more smoothly. Recently I play a lot of Wartales and later in the game it became quite demanding on the pc and also I noticed my FPS going south fast (at around 50 using max-ish settings). My hardware is:
- i7 9700k
- 6900 XT Red devil
- 32 GB Gskill ddr4
- 1000W Asus rog strix (I upgraded the psu a year ago just for this freakish GPU)
- Asus rog Z390-H gaming

The microstutter is clearly there and even Adrenaline's benchmarking box shows that the %s are there (usually between 1-2). Still...what can cause microstutter? It is apparent in other games as well (I think it is in PC building sim 2). I admit that recently I don't play fast games like FPS where such a stutter is more apparent (I can't tell if in Baldur's gate 3 I have any).

As I said, it is a clean windows, I have everything running on SSD, etc.
Before the clean install I used some benchmark softwares, like userbenchmark's stuff which said my config was "UFO" but GPU was in the lower 41% in its own category (among other 6900XTs I presume). It also said that all of my disk drives were pretty slow but then I benchmarked them using a more eloquent software and the results were close to where they should be.

Thanks and sorry for long explanation. :)

Probably per game basis you'll have to search for, I don't think it's your system as a whole. Things like memory leaks, certain graphics settings in game. Searching people's experiences.

Starfield for example has problems and deleting pipeline file in %LOCALAPPDATA% Starfield folder seems to address performance issues, at least with this game. Cache file if there is one for your games would be named differently i assume.

Type %LOCALAPPDATA% in start search bar to get there and have a look.
