Microwaves VS monitors

How far away can a microwave,vacuum cleaner ect. affect the monitor. My screen distorts everytime the mic's on or the vacuum is turned on no matter how far away. I thought the monitor was going for a [-peep-] untill I noticed that everytime
it did it either appliance was running.

Depends on the strength of the magnetic fields. In this case they are very strong. I have seen high voltage wires influence monitors from as far away as 2 hundred yards.
