hi, I'm looking to buy a laptop this black friday, I'll be buying from amazong (us), let me just fill the form from the sticky:

  1. my budget is between 500-900 usd
  2. 15 inch will be the best size but 17 is fine too, just no 13 or smaller.
  3. 1920x1080 screen with ips panel, 120hz+ refresh rate will be nice but I know it can make thing considerably more expensive.
  4. it's not gonna be a desktop replacement, just a laptop for games.
  5. I'm gonna use it work so battery life isn't much of a concern, can just leave it plugged in.
  6. I'm mainly gonna play LoL and indie games, AAA titles from time to time, but it's fine to have them at medium settings.
  7. other tasks with the laptop will mainly be studying, so word and web browsing.
  8. I see a lot of laptops only have 250 ssd, I can probably manage with it but prefer an hdd with it.
  9. like I said in the top, gonna buy it from amazon on black Friday, I want to look out for specific models.
  10. how long to keep it, indefinitely, obviously it's not gonna last so long but I don't plan to replace it.
  11. don't need an optical driver.
  12. I don't have a preferred brand.
  13. I live in Israel, I'm gonna buy it from US amazon, we get free shipping for now and even after import taxes it's cheaper than buying a laptop here (especially if I find a good deal)
to put it into perspective an acer helios 300 with an i7 8750h and a 1050 costs 1870 usd,

thanks for the help :)

Okay, I have a shortlist of laptops you might want to check out, in order of price. Bear in mind, I am from britain, and will be using the .co.uk amazon, so if you use the .com version prices may differ.

I have removed any options that have below 1 TB of space, and with less than 8 GB RAM. all of the options have discrete GPUs, so they should be at least vaguely acceptable at playing games, but don't expect them to run 2019 AAA games on full graphics - but as you said medium isn't a problem for you.

the price range I am using is £390 to £725, which is about the same as yours, give or take up to $30 (I will tell you if it goes above your price range)

Bear in mind that unless I say otherwise, these do not have any SSD so they may be a...

Bear in mind that unless I say otherwise, these do not have any SSD so they may be a little slower to boot. all of them however have got a 1 TB HDD, if I do say it has a 256 GB SSD that is in addition to, not instead of the HDD.

All of them have 15.6" screens. all of them should have 1080P IPS panels.

Personally, looking at this shortlist I would probably go for the HoMei H6751 - it looks far more appealing than any of the others, stats wise, though you do sacrifice some cores, which may put you off.

Hope this has helped!
