I know the i5 2500k is only 40 dollars more but i honestly don't think i would need it. Is the graphics card going to be enough to warrant the better motherboard and play current gen games? The only area I am totally lost is the tower, I really have no idea what to look for there

Stick with the 2400, it's much faster than the 2300.

Go with this board, your not overclocking so you don't need a P67. Also the board Why Me is suggesting does not have sata6 or usb3.
