So I'm refurbishing an old computer, and I'm wondering what sort of graphics card would work best with the Athlon 64 X2 5000+. I'm not looking for the absolute best high end graphics, but more of something that would've been considered "good" back around 2005 to 2010 that could play games around 30 FPS or higher.

My choice so far is a Radeon HD 6670, although I'm up for any suggestions.

You can even purchase the AMD Radeon 5450 as the games you have mentioned will work good on this card. It can play FC3 Medium and Fifa 14 maxed out at 30 fps. The Radeon 6670 is better than the 5450. Bottleneck won't be a problem and its very cheap as compared to the 750 ti.
You can go for the Zotac GTX 750 ti ( better than the Radeon 6670 ) if you are low on budget and want good gaming. It can play games like FC4 on ultra settings at 30-40 fps.

Would that be a bottleneck on either the gpu or cpu?

I don't really plan on playing Far Cry 4 or GTA V, but more of Quake 3 Arena, Killing Floor, Counter Strike (Original), GMod, etc.

The bottleneck happens when the CPU can't keep up so if u don't play any game that requires the CPU power it won't bottleneck, as far as I know. Back in the day I played FIFA 14 with an Athlon ii X2 and a r7 260X so there's my two cents :)
Also, if u get a more recent card (like the 750ti) you are getting a more efficient and newer card, so it will last longer than a 3 generation old card.

What about a R7 250?
