(The FE 3060ti is £379, bringing the total to c.£1200)

With limited research, recommendations and personal preference I have created the above list; any further guidance or recommendations of your own would be appreciated.

For reference I have a 165hz 1080p monitor and will upgrade to 1440p soon ish; I doubt I will be gaming at 4k with this build.

The only thing i'm torn over is the CPU; is the K version of the 12600 worth the extra money for a few more (e)cores as I know it won't be overclockable on this mobo.

Thanks

Looks OK to me.....

I'd go with the 12600K because if I avoided the E cores I would be forever second-guessing myself, thinking they might be quite useful.

Are you locked in on liquid cooling for whatever reason?

Good choice on motherboard. There is a DDR 5 version, but I assume that's one step too far at your budget?

Not familiar with MSI power supplies and cases.

Exactly my thoughts on the K, I'd have a lot of what ifs if I decided against buying it.

I'm not exactly a CPU cooling specialist but I've heard that liquid cooling is often a little more efficient and a little quieter, plus this cooler in particular is the same brand and line as the motherboard.

I think DDR5 will be an upgrade for the future once it becomes a little more affordable!

DDR 5: Ok, I assume you are aware that you will never be able to put DDR 5 on that motherboard. You'd have to buy a new board.

Cooling: Not at all sure liquid is quieter. It brings its own medium and long term maintenance issues. Barring heavy duty overclocking, I wouldn't think you'd need liquid on a 12600K. Liquid attracts some people for reasons other than cooling performance per se...don't know if you are one of those people.

Yeah I'm happy to wait a couple of years until DDR5 becomes a bit more mainstream.

RPM's on the fans are customisable so theoretically you could make it a little quieter, I could just go safe with air cooling for now though, I think I'll have to do a tad more research. Is liquid cooling more of an aesthetic haha

edit: Just as a side note is there much of a difference between the FE 3060ti and another branded 3060ti like MSI or EVGA? I think I saw a graph somewhere and there was only a few fps difference between them all but enormous price differences?

Don't buy that cooler.
