Approximate Purchase Date: This month
Budget Range: $300, 400 w/ printer
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Video editing (no Blu-ray), watching videos and then the basic internet/email/microsoft word
Parts Not Required: CPU (Phenom II x4 965 125w), Motherboard (Asus M4A88TD-V Evo), Case (HAF 912)
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg and Microcenter
Country of Origin: United States
Parts Preferences: Monitor w/ speakers
Overclocking: No
SLI or Crossfire: No
Monitor Resolution: Most likely 1440x900
Additional Comments: This is a cheaper PC for my mom and the parts not required are from my build that I'm upgrading. I'm thinking I'll need a lower to mid range graphics card for video playback, but I know that requires the monitor resolution. However, I was looking at the HD 5450 and the HD 5670, but I have no idea what type of PSU I will need because I've been reading various articles and posts with different stories. Also the AMD site only says 400W minimum, and doesn't give a amperage requirement.
What I'm thinking so far:
RAM: G.SKILL NS 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) - $31.99
HDD: SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM - $64.99
GPU: XFX HD-545X-YRH2 Radeon HD 5450 512MB - $34.99
PSU: SILVERSTONE ST40F-ES 400W - $48.99
DVD Burner:ASUS 24X DVD Burner - $20.99
Monitor: ASUS VW193TR Black 19" 5ms Widescreen - $109.99
Total: $311.94
I'm also looking for a printer, just for basic papers. I'm not sure which type of printer, but I know we have an Inkjet printer at the moment. Preferably one for around ~90.
Any tweaks and/or help will be appreciated!
