Hey guys,

I recently received an ASRock M3A780GXH/128M motherboard for free and I'm wondering what I can build with it. Do you think Its possible to use it for a mid-tier gaming rig? I don't really know what to get to start building, so could you guys recommend some components for a build around this motherboard?

Thanks,

Lucas

Has a better video card for cheaper + a much better power supply, but it's double the price and it's worth it, and it also has the CASE INCLUDED, without it...

Yeah, but I couldn't find any compatible CPUs anywhere and it isn't worth it really..

That's more expensive than the MUCH newer and better x4 860k and it runs hotter, so IDK it's up to you, it's 6 years old BTW..

Can you tell me your budget, this might be good for you or not depending on your budget..

Hey there,

I'm willing to put down $500-700 bucks for a new machine, but I am wondering if I could save some $$$ if I use this mobo. The rig doesn't have to be anything special or a top tier gaming machine. I already have an SSD I'm willing to use, so all I need is a GPU, CPU, PSU, RAM, and a case. Keep in mind although I can spend $500, I would want to spend the absolute minimum possible. I was looking online and found some things I could use on amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-SUPERCLOCKED-Graphics-02G-P4-2662-KR/dp/B00966IREK

http://www.amazon.com/Logisys-Corp-240-Pin-Supply-PS480D2/dp/B008MUD9IK/ref=sr_1_12?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1452117222&sr=1-12&keywords=power+supply

All this puts me in at around: $244, which seems like a great deal!

What do you think?

So in total the
build + that CPU = $293

still $100 cheaper than any console (except the wii u lol) and performs much better..

Have fun! :)
