Hi. I have been thinking about building myself a new PC, and this will be my first time putting one together. I have read a few reviews, but would like to know how to cut costs, but keep about the same performance. Any thoughts on different parts? EDIT: I would like to keep this a quad core build, and not go i7. I am currently using a 2.8 GHz P4, and don't need the small bit of extra speed i7 gives. :)

Budget: Anthing under $1100 for listed parts or similar, but must perform well. Current price for these parts: $1094.89
Overclock: Probably so
SLI or Crossfire: Sometime in the future, but not yet.
Monitor Resolution: 1680x1050

So, that's everything. I will be getting a keyboard, OS, mouse, speakers, etc., but those are nowhere near as expensive as these parts.

Changing to an i7 platform will only cost $130 and its worth the money in the long run.
