Migrate OS from RAID 1 (motherboard controlled, SATA only) HDD on old machine to SSD (M.2) on new machine

I am building a new computer and want to transfer my old OS (Win10), programs and files to my new machine. The old machine has a RAID 1 through the motherboard (ASUS P9X79 Deluxe) on two HDDs over SATA. The new machine has a SSD in M.2 format. The P9X79 Deluxe does not support M.2 so I don't think it isn't as easy as cloning the HDD to the SSD? The new motherboard is a ASUS ROG STRIX X299-E GAMING. Is it even possible to get my old HDD OS and data to the new SSD? The RAID 1 is really complicating the situation and I don't have a ton of experience with RAID. Do I need to involve a third drive so I can clone the RAID 1 data to an intermediate drive and then take that intermediate drive to the new machine before I install the SSD and then clone again to the SSD?

2. New system. Trying to move an OS (what OS?) from an old system to a new system often fails. RAID or no RAID

3. The old motherboard RAID 1. You'd have to remove any reference to that RAID.

Strongly recommended to just do a clean OS install in the new hardware.

USAFRet,

1) The ASUS P9X79 Deluxe (old computer) does not have an M.2 socket so it can not boot from M.2. I don't have an adapter card to put M.2 on the board and don't want to get one.
2) Windows 10
3) How would one do that without having to reformat the drives?

So I am guessing I am going to do the following steps?
1) Create a backup disk on the old machine
2) Do a clean install on the new machine with a Windows ISO from Microsoft. Any suggestions there?

4) Use license on new machine
5) Use backup disk to get all old programs and files on new machine

The whole point of me trying to do this is to keep the programs/OS. Is there no way to keep the programs in this situation?

With a clean install of the OS, no.

And especially with a new system, a clean install is strongly recommended. Even without adding in the RAID 1 difficulty.
