migrate OS ssd

I have a 1TB HDD and a 120GB SSD and I want to transfer the OS ONLY from the HDD to the SSD, the SSD has more than enough space for just the OS but I don't know how to do this.

You can't just clone the OS only. You will have to remove (ie Delete) any files, folders, &c you do not want on the SSD before the cloning process. Your alternative is to clean install Windows onto the SSD. Which is a better option in my opinion.

If you don't have the Windows disk you can download the Windows ISO from Microsoft directly. Although there is no problem with Windows 8 or 10. For some reason MS will only allow a retail license for Windows 7 downloads. If using a computer with UEFI (most likely) and USB Flash Drive for an install device. You will have to use a utility called RUFUS to make a UEFI bootable USB Flash Drive.

You can't move 'only' the OS. Doesn't work like that.

For a successful cloning operation, you'd have to get the actual used space to below 90GB.
How much total used space is on your C partition, and what is taking up that space, exactly.?
Also, do you have another drive, to move stuff to temporarily?

Otherwise, your only recourse is a clean install on the new SSD. This is recommended.
But it also means a clean install of all your other applications.
