So i've been running windows and all my application off a HDD for 2 years now, and want to upgrade. I'm about to buy the "Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD" off an online parts store.

From what i understand, the HDD must take up less space then the SSD capacity, because you have to migrate the whole drive, not just windows. Well my 1TB HDD has been stripped as much as i can get it, and it's only taking up 250gb ( i can probably get it down more if needs be ), so it should work. I would also have half the drive left over for steam games hopefully.

What programs do i need to use to do this? Is it a difficult, or risky procedure? I'm a teenager that can't afford to break my pc or corrupt anything, and $200 (aud) for the SSD isn't exactly a small amount of money for me, so i only want to go ahead with this if it can definitely be done, and relatively easily.

Thanks
