Does a colonies Gemini full of fighters sweep more than a colonies
Virgo full of fighters?
Thx

I thought I read some where it does, but just got told it doesn't, and
I can't remember where I read it.

An Gemini has 400 cargo, a Virgo only 290 Cargo. More fighters=more mines
gets sweeped. (Hostconfig default is 20 mine units sweeped per fighter)

The Gemini does hold more fighters.. 400 vs. 290.. and can sweep more
mines.. but most Colonies players use this to generate/build fighters..
since the cargo hold of 400 generates 40 fighters per turn... vs. any other
ship. With only 1 fighter bay the Gemini can't defend itself very well.. it
just can't discharge the fighters that fast. A Virgo with 8 fighter bays
can do much better.. thus the reason why most of the time the Gemini is put
on a Bov. world and used to simply build build build.. then the fighters are
transfered out to the Virgos and Patriots for minesweeping. I have found
that a couple of low cost Patriots will sweep mines pretty darn good, and
they are a lote cheaper than a big Virgo.

Thx
I'm at the stage of the game where every Virgo is full (so is every
other carrier), all SBs full. I'm fighting the Robots with the help of
the Privateers, and the Privateers just need help sweeping, so I was
going to let him tow 2 full Gemini. He wanted the Virgos, but the
Gemini will do the job quicker.
