First I would like to state that I get 60+ fps on Arma 3 King Of The Hill (70+players) with everything maxed out in the settings. which I am very happy about.

But In Minecraft 1.8 in a creative (Flat) world, Settings As low as possible I barley get 60 fps! Why is this!?
I know its playable but for god sakes its Minecraft!

Its only using about 20% of my cpu and 30-35% of my memory which looks all good to me.

Solution
I've got almost EXACTLY the same setup (i7-3770K, GTX680) and average over 100FPS on maximum settings (though I use VSYNC when playing so run at 60FPS).

I'd say you have the game installed incorrectly so perhaps following tips at the Minecraft site.

I assume it's a LEGAL COPY of the game?

You could also try the DEMO version and see how that runs to help you troubleshoot.

Update:

A recent update to using 64-bit may be your problem. Try downloading the 64-bit version of JAVA.

I'm not quiet certain how that works though. Perhaps THIS and use the OFFLINE version?

Now that Microsoft owns the game maybe they'll fix a few things like this. They should really have JAVA built directly into the game or even recode the game to not use it at all. It works on the XBONE and PS4 after all.

I guess my Minecraft was pretty old or something was a bit iffy with it 😛 Reinstall and a Java update at the same time did the job!

Thanks for the quick solution!
