Minecraft Causes GPU to Overheat

I have the EVGA Superclocked GTX 770 with ACX and I've had a lot of problems with it so far, while it is getting hot here in NY, it shouldn't make my GPU overheat and drivers often crash (Yes, they're up to date). I'm trying to play with my friends and the GPU keeps overheating and just shutting down my whole rig with the server and all. Are there any settings that I could use to stop this? Or should I just get the card replaced as defective since it hasn't been 30 days since I ordered it. I've just had so many problems with this card and if you need any info I will post it here. Thank you in advanced for your help.

My rig:

Corsair Carbide 400R case
16gb Corsair RAM
EVGA Superclocked GTX 770 with ACX (2gb VRAM)
4th Generation i7 4770k
Cooler Master 212 Evo processor fan

Hello mate. Sorry to hear.

Are you monitoring both CPU and GPU temperatures? Because the ACX cooler by EVGA is top notch, it shouldn't have any difficulty keeping everything cool and quiet.

To check GPU temperatures then download Furmark and run a burn-in test. For the CPU download prime95 and realtemp. Open realtemp and begin stress testing with prime95 by choosing in-place large FFTs.

Run each test seperately for 15 minutes or until crash and post results here please. :)

Thanks for your help, as soon as I run the test I will post the results here.
And I've been monitoring GPU and I have to run fans at 100% in order to maintain an average 54 degrees celsius in Minecraft.

Here's a screenshot of it, it usually runs a little hotter but I had stopped playing for a little bit before I took the screenshot

There is thermal paste, a good amount of it too. I'm thinking it's the GPU so I may RMA it soon

54 degrees celcius? That is really cool, mate. Most modern GPUs can go up in the 80-90s without it being any problem, 105 celcius is the threshold of most modern GPUs. I usually run my GPU within a range of 65 to 75 celcius depending on the game.

As mentioned before it might be a defective card you've gotten, but please check your CPU. I just installed a new CPU cooler as well, and it wasn't properly installed (forgot to remove plastic protection from the bottom, duuuuh *facepalm*), my pc crashed several times before I noticed it was the CPU. :)

CPU is running fine at about 30 degrees but if my fans were on normal for minecraft, it would be at much higher temperatures. I guess I could be a little paranoid and I still may RMA the card because I feel like Minecraft shouldn't be this tough on it

It's pretty cool, but minecraft shouldn't make the card get THAT hot considering it's more CPU and RAM dependent... if that makes any sense. Can you run something more graphic intensive like BF3/4, Crysis, or even FurMark and see how hot it gets?
Your card really isn't that hot though. Cards run at almost twice that.

BF3 tends to run at around the same temperatures with 100% fans. Sometimes my GPU just spikes like crazy and crashes in games though, I think it may just be a little defective. The drivers crash a lot too, just from watching TV or sitting at desktop

That's not a good sign... it may be defective. I think you may have to get it RMA'd. Get some other people's opinions besides mine.
