Minecraft has low fps on beast PC

I upgraded a few things in my Pc and for some reason Minecraft runs slow when it shouldn't. I get an average of 30-40 fps and occasionally get 60. I have Vsync off and framerate set to unlimited. Everything else is set to max. Is there any way to use GPU instead of CPU? I know that Minecraft uses the CPU a lot.

PC:
Msi 970A-43G
Radeon R9 280(NON-X)
Corsair Vengeance 8Gb 1600Mhz
AMD FX-6100
1Tb WD Blue 7200 Rpm

Side notes: Yes i have 64-Bit Java, no I don't have other programs running in background, and no I'm not playing with mods. No i do not have integrated graphics.

Turn off Anti Aliasing first see how that turns out.

When playing games like Minecraft don't max out everything you can keep the rendering. Set all the settings default then now start adjusting things one by one see where the lag comes. 30-40 fps isn't bad you know.

In fact i played Minecraft on a Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz 1 Gb of Ram. I got 25-30 FPS still very playable.

That PC is gone now and broken. Old but GOLD

its defiantly the cpu as I have a friend who has a 6300 and he struggles to get over 70FPS with his chip OC'ed to 4.6Ghz.
you could try disabling some cores and overclocking the chip but I honestly don't think its going to change much as minecraft is very dependant on single core performance

how do i disable cores?

anti-aliasing isnt the problem. I can run more demanding games on max settings and get 60-120 depending on the game.

just disabled some cores and got about 10-25 fps. Thanks, you are the most helpful person in the entire world and i owe you my life.

that's not my problem I read up on it and some peope said disabling cores improves frame rate otherwise since that didn't work try an overclock

1. You read wrong. 2. Do you know how a processor works and 3. How in any way would overclocking make it any better than the 30-40 fps i was getting before

1. how?
2. yea I do and you where smart enough to buy a chip from a 2012 family and expect it to run great in single core games
3. overclocking means it can process things faster so each core can work faster that the default speed and amd FX chips can overclock quite well

also you know the AMD FX 6100 you have has 3 cores right? it has 3 cores and 3 integer units to improve MULTI THREAD performance

No it has 6 cores and thats the only cpu i could afford at the time. Also, you dont run games with only one core, thats stupid and it would defiantly affect performance. Try running bf4 on ultra with only one core and tell me how that works out. I also know what overclocking is. I already have my ram and cpu overclocked. Also my processor has six cores, six threads and uses 3 processors for computing. But dont get me wrong it uses all six cores for processing normal things, for instance, games. finally, since when is minecraft a single core game? My dad has a phenom x4 processor in his pc and minecraft maxes all of the cores out and runs at a solid 60fps with very rare fps drops into the 50's.

you sure? phenoms have better single core performance and no minecraft is single core and java is multicore do some research and tell me something that's not stupid.
as for BF4 ill show you how it runs on a single core as ive already tried it

You are the stupidest person i have ever met on here. You cannot run BF4 on ultra with only one core and get 60fps. Also, how in any way is that processor better than mine? Minecraft was built on java until recently, even now, it runs better with a multicore processor. No where can i find someone playing with a single core processor or and benchmarks. I cant tell if you are trolling or you really are this stupid.

read above did I say ultra and 60FPS anywhere I believe I said I would show you how it runs as your words where you cannot run battlefield 4 using only 1 core

1 core @ 4.5Ghz un ultra settings and 44 FPS I didn't use mantle which probably would've improved it a little and there is no argument that im using more as Hw monitor gets 1 core CPU-Z gets 1 core and task manager gets one core.
as for your issue get a different cpu the G3258 is a good one I get 300+ FPS in minecraft and you can get a H97 board and the cpu for a total of $180 (AU) and you wont have any issues.

go google your chip and you will see that it has very poor single core performance as it uses modules not actual cores. update your drivers overclock your CPU and GPU make a whole new world (if the world was done on a previous machine) download optifine https://optifine.net/downloads and use the multi-core option and see if that improves anything if not well too bad but you cant play minecraft at 60FPS so lower the settings or learn to deal with it.

Ok, so you can run bf4 on ultra but not at 60fps(which most pc gamers play with.). Also, some people dont have $180 to throw out the window when trying to get an extra 20fps when every other game they have gets a solid 60fps. This is a stupid thing to argue about because it hasnt solved my problem.

then get optifine and select multi-core or overclock your chip from its default to something like 4.6Ghz and tell me if it improves it.

i only have the stock cooler and i did install optifine but i dont see a multicore setting anywhere.

in the minecraft setting it will say chunk loading and it should be set to default keep clicking until it goes to muticore.
as for the cooler the stock one is fine for an overclock you should be able to get something like 4.6Ghz @ 1.325V

I am saying that i had a 2.5 Ghz Dual core and a 2.8 Ghz single core there gone now i got better gameplay on the 2.8 Ghz one

thank you that's exactly what ive been saying it runs better on single core

I have read all the comments on this thread and you all know a lot. So i assume you have tried allocating more ram for minecraft it helped me quite a bit.

we have been chatting over PM and he used optifine and a mild OC and is now getting around 200-400FPS
