Minecraft Incredible Lag Spikes

Whenever I play Minecraft single player or multiplayer I get constant horrendous lag spikes all the time, this makes no sense to me at all.

I can play games such as BF4, GTA5, BO2 etc with no issues what so ever..

I have these:
A8 5600k
Single stick of ddr3 @ 1333Mhz
2 x WDBLUE 1TB
MSI R7 260X (Overclocked)

It doesn't make sense that I can happily run GTA but can'r run Minecraft

Any ideas why would be appreciated

Is that Java 64 bit? Minecraft likes the 64 bit version.

Yes off course, I have a 64 bit OS hence 8GB ram so why would I only use a 32bit java

Because default downloads from Java are 32 bit. You actually have to download the 64 bit manually. That's what I had to do to fix my shuttering in Minecraft.

Hmm. That's typically the #1 solution for the shuttering. What does the Launcher Log say? Any errors? Is it using the 64 bit version?

Try downloading optifine, and 9f it doesnt fix the problem it *might* be your hdd fault
