Minecraft is Stuttering! Please HELP.

I have an amd radeon hd7870 and an fx-8320 with a hyper 212 evo and 600w power supply.
i've been experiencing some lag on singleplayer, and multiplayer. I get stuttering, and im usually around 100 fps, then it will drop to about 11. Is this my cpu problem or gpu problem? Could this be because my card supports DirectX better then OpenGL?

Have you tried allocating more RAM to Minecraft?

check your CPU usage when playing minecraft, when the FPS drops check if anything happened. if so then their might be a problem with your cpu. if not maybe allocate some more RAM to minecraft. if this is a thing that has only been appearing lately these might be your problems. if not install the mod optifine, this only adds in performance boosts, using this mod it will try to stabilize your FPS.

I purchased this computer online, and the person said they had to get a new fan for the cpu because something was wrong with the older fan. Could there still be a problem?? I'm using an amazing gpu and cpu for minecraft, i dont think i would need to allocate more ram, i have 8gb of ram, and i wouldn't need optifine if i have such a good cpu and gpu for minecraft...

You need to specifically allocate more RAM. I believe it is set to a certain amount from the start, and you have to allow it to access more.

i just allocated 1 more GB of ram, didn't do anything.

try downloading optifine, not just for the FPS rise but more for the stabilisation. it will stop you FPS going to big drops and scince that is your problem.
