Minecraft Lag

So I just got a Windforce 7950, and replaced my recferance Radeon 6570. On the 6570 I was able to get about 180-220 FPS, after upgrading I can't even hit 100 FPS. I have the most up to date version on java 32-bit and 64-bit. I have tried with and without optifine, and non of my components are even close to running at max.
My specs:
I7-3770k
Radeon HD 7950
2x4GB 1600MHz RAM
120BG SanDisk Extreme SSD

Your specs are on the recommended list of the Minecraft System Requirements, are you playing on a server? if so, make sure you're near, cuz, if you're very far on the server's location, the more you'll have a high lag.

@Spartin503, Have you tried upgrading Java to 7?
if it didn't work, add more memory, Minecraft relies on Memory and plays on JAVA

You do have 2X4 GB RAM (8 GB) right? That should be plenty.

Sounds silly but if you've reinstalled Java...have you tried resintalling the game? BTW, copy your savegames (if you have any local saves) before reinstalling (or don't if you dont' care).
