Minecraft low fps only on nvidia card

I have a nvidia GTX1050. Minecraft used to run perfectly fine until the other day i started the game and i only get around 15-20 fps no matter what video settings i use. The card is working fine on other games and my integrated graphics still run minecraft smoothly so i guess the problem is somehow related to the GPU.

I've tried reinstalling minectaft and java, none of it worked. I really don't understand what's the problem, can someone help me?

Minecraft might be pushing your cpu to the limit. Use a tool like Msi afterburner and track cpu and gpu usage. You should be able to see what the problem is.

My CPU is a i7-7700HQ. I don't think that's the problem

Actually i'm not. I discovered this issue cause my little cousins wanted to play, but anyway, that's none of your business.
