My friend has been playing Minecraft Java and he is getting very low fps . I dont know why so Im asking here in hopes that someone knows how to fix it. He gets around 30fps-45fps He has Vsyc off and FPS set to unlimited.

His Specs
(He is on windows 10 btw)
Ryzen 5 1600
RTX 2060
16 BG RAM

He plays 1.15.2 , uses Optifine and faithful texture pack.

If you have any other questions I will try my best to answer them. Any help would be nice :)

Solution
First of all, Minecraft is very CPU bound so don't expect the 2080 to be much help in boosting fps. That's the basic reason for why he is getting lowish frames (ik there is other issues), he is pairing a low-mid range CPU with a high end GPU and expecting highest end results.

I have the Ryzen 5 3600 and in 1.15.2 with a 32x32 faithful pack and optifine settings all set to maximize fps i am getting 150-300 fps.

The settings that make the biggest difference for FPS in minecraft are animations, render distance if you are on a big server with particles everywhere.

I would specifically check under video settings > Quality > Anti aliasing and mip map type.
Those I know to be BIG FPS killers
