So I have a PC with decent specs:

Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super
i5 9600K
ROG Strix Z390 - FMotherboard
16GB Corsair DDR4 ram
2TB HDD (On which minecraft is installed)
500GB SSD
Corsair RM750x PSU
I seem to be getting around 100-150fps on high settings with render of 30 chunks. Isn't that underperforming significantly ???
And yes, I have verified that minecraft is using my GPU and I have allocated more ram to it within the launcher.

there is a screenshot of my game ^^

I had a gtx 970 before I bought the 2070, and it ran at least 200fps so I dont see why the RTX can't handle it.
performed fresh driver reinstall using DDU as well and reinstalled java 64bit.

What PSU is installed?

My suggestion is to tally up the power requirements for your PC.

First with the gtx 970 and then with the RTX 2070 Super.

You may be pushing the limits of the PSU.

Understood.

However, it may prove useful to know just how close the system's power demands are to what the PSU is capable of providing.

Use the high end wattages for components with ranged wattages. Add 25% to the system total.

How much margin is available?

Especially if the PSU is older and has been heavily used for gaming, etc..

You can also fall back on Task Manager and Resource Monitor to observe system performance.

First while doing things other than Minecraft and then, second, while Minecraft is running.

Determine what else may be affecting Minecraft's performance.
