I was playing minecraft on my old gpu ( GTX 770 2GB OC ) and swapped to RX 580 SAPPHIRE 8GB. My game took a big hit in performance. I was also trying to use shaders, on my old gpu i could run most of the shaders with decent fps, now i get 30-40 fps with drops to 20 fps.

CPU - intel i5 3570k
RAM - 8GB 1666 mHz

Solution
Something is up with your GPU. The scores are very low. Still could a driver problem. I would start over and uninstall the drivers using the DDU tool.

Did you buy the GPU new or used?

Uninstall all old drivers from you computer... then make sure to install and update all current graphics drivers. If you want to push your system more, or make it run a tad better you can install MSI afterburner to play with fan curves, clock speeds and even power draw/limit.

You should not need to run the DDU tool again. I assume you downloaded the 580 drivers from AMD?

What PSU are you running? The 580 will pull a little bit more power than the 770, but not much more.

Go to userbenchmark.com and run a bench. Leave a link here with the results.

I got the latest drivers from AMD and I am using corsair CX 750W PSU and here is my benchmark results.

All of my games are working better with this new GPU but not Minecraft.
