Question Minecraft running poorly

Hey all, my minecraft is running at 7-10 percent gpu usage and about 40 percent cpu usage. The fps is awfully unplayable. It's like 13-20. I used to get a solid 144fps at all times. Any help appreciated. Many thanks, Tom. I'll list my rig underneath if needed

i7-2600 3.4ghz
GTX 1060 3gb
8gb DDR3 RAM (2x2gb + 1x4gb)
144hz AOC C24G1

Yeah, most other games run fine and stable. Usually around 70-80 percent gpu usage and 50 percent cpu usage in other games but minecraft just doesnt seem to run properly
