Minecraft Server on Multiple Raspberry Pi's

I am a somewhat experienced raspberry pi owner, and I started a project a year ago to run a minecraft server on one. As anyone who has tried this will know, performance was poor. I am wondering if it is possible to combine the processing power of multiple raspberry pi's to run a Minecraft server

Not sure if it would be possible, The only thing i could think of is soldering the two boards together, or buying a new processor chip and upgrading the RAM. A lot of work. You also need to be Skilled in soldering, its not as simple as you think.

no not unless you re-code the minecraft server to support multiple cores / clustering
atm a vanilla minecraft server only supports a single thread
