Minecraft TNT lag

My computer runs minecraft very well, however if I blow up a large amount of TNT my frames plummet. Any possible explanations for this? I hope someone can help. My computer is a gaming PC, i5 6400, gtx 1060, 8gb of ram and Windows 7. Runs most other games fine.

minecraft is very cpu intensive, it is normal

you can do a search for this topic on youtube, it happens alot even on high end cpus
