I am partly-succesfully using 2 pins of the 4+4 CPU connector to power a Gigabyte GA-H81TN with a Corsair SF450 PSU with a jumper wire on the green pin (PS_ON)to GND. But it does not work flawless. As soon as i turn on the PSU with the PSU on/off button, the GPU fan and HDD's will start spinning at max speed until i hit the enclosure on/off/reset button. After the motherboard starts running everything is fine. Windows reboot is also not working. When restarting, the pc will hang in the turn off/on cycle, reboot does work when only the motherboard is connected to the PSU. I am considering powering the GPU fans from a motherboard header and removing the seperate HDD's so that everything (except the GPU 6pin) is powered from the motherboard.
