So right now I have a mini ITX but I want to upgrade to a ATX case and mobo.

My plan as of now is to strip my components of my ITX and then buy a new PSU and install it into a new ATX case.

As I was going through the rest of my plan, I came across a bump. Could I simply plug in my old SSD (which has my OS on it) and my hdd and not have to do a new install? I'm basically asking could I unplug the drives, replug them, BIOS setup, and be good to go?

FYI The motherboard will not change socket types

Thanks :)

Back up any data you have/want to save.
Re-build your system using the new motherboard and case.
Re-install Windows.

I'm kinda a n00b at computer building so bare with me 😀 . I have the reinstall disk so to 'reinstall' would i just pop the disk into the new computer or would i have to reinstall it on the ITX, unplug, and a put it into the ATX??

Thanks

This is very much of a 'maybe'.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. You don't know until you try it.

But far better to be prepared for when it doesn't work, rather than have to undo the hardware install and then prepare.
