Mini Server: i3-6100 vs Pentium G3258 Anniversary Edition?

I am looking to build a low power mini server that I can leave running 24/7 without using up too much electricity. I want to have a relatively inexpensive build ~$300-400 but am willing to go higher if the cost of the i3 is worth it for my application.

I plan to have this server host all of my files so that I can make myself a personal cloud. I will also use it for Plex hosting (probably no more than two simultaneous streams at once, if that), Steam streaming, and maybe a small Minecraft server.

So which of these two CPUs do you think would be better: an i3-6100 or an overclocked Pentium G3258?

Or do you think there is a CPU that might better fit my needs?

Thanks!

If it's just for file serving you could just get the Celeron N3150 combo motherboard or mini PC, but not sure how it'll handle a Minecraft server, it can likely handle most Plex streams and Minecraft server shouldn't be too much a strain. i3 6100 is just overkill for that purpose unless you plan on doing more on it than just a file server. The G3258 has fast single thread so that's your other option (and probably a better one).
