the only apeal of AM1 (amd kabini) miniITX is for HTPCs... and the only audio you want out of your HTPC is digital... so why i can't find any miniITX AM1 board that has SPDIF ports or headers?! not only that they all have sub-par ac6xx audio chips for the analog out.

the only one i could find by downloading all manuals *was* the ECS one. Was because later i found out it was a misprint on the manual.

So, is there a board i'm not seeing? or is this the huge fail it seems to be?

right you are. i had dismissed that board because there are lots of report of instability because of the bad power input system (probably to fit the switching psu to work with a laptop power brick)

well... one unstable board with digital audio in the whole ecosystem 🙁

i think i will triple check audio via hdmi is not purposely crippled on this architecture...

If that motherboard doesn't work out for you, I suggest buying an A4 or A6 APU along with a spidif capable A78 motherboard.

i think i will not be able to go with AMD 🙁 already got a used itx case i want to use and there is not much space for a big heatsink. i do have to keep it under 40W

I'm considering a J2900 with an external card.

Ok then.

J2900 is slow (I have one) btw.
