What's the minimum graphics card needed to play games that was released 2010 and later on medium settings?

That's a pretty big gap of GPU requirements...
If you're planning on playing newer games like Witcher 3 or Batman, a GTX 960 would be recommended.
You could probably settle with a GTX 750ti and get low settings on newer games with older games being much more playable.

If you want to play on less than 1080p then get a radeon 7770 or nvidia gtx 650. If you are planning to play on 1080p then get a gtx 760 or radeon 270X

You won't find anything for $50 that will allow you to play any new games as far as I'm aware..

The best card you can get at $50 is the r7 250. I had it for 6 months and it a best card for lower end games like skyrim or fallout and will even play gta 5 at 900p lowest settings. What type of games will you be playing?

Racing games (Need for speed), games like Sonic Generations, and PlayStation 1, 2, Wii, and GameCube emulation.
