you would need a fx6300 or i5 3570/4670 minimum to not bottleneck the card.

8320 @ 4.0 Ghz should be minimum. Nothing less than that. 290x is a very powerful card. An FX 6300 would just not cut it.

Maybe a FX 6300 @ 4.5 Ghz might be okay, but it would take a 8320 @ 4.0 Ghz to not bottleneck that card.

On Intel Side, the stock i5 is fine. An i5 @ 3.1 Ghz is fine.


As for the PSU, nothing less than 600W is recommended. The 290x uses a lot of power and hence you are looking at at least 600W PSU.
