Minimum Requirements to run BF4 in Extreme

I am Looking to build a system to run BF4 and other games in Extreme. I also need the system to be quiet and double as a HTPC. I would like to spend between $1000 and $1500.

I could be talked into swapping out the Sapphire Radeon HD 7790 for a pair of GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 650 Ti.


I just want my kid to be able to use extreme settings for games and I want to use XBMC. The system needs to be quite and not generate too much heat. All the components need to fit in a HTPC case.

You do NOT need 32gb of ram. 16 or even 8 is adequate.
Your video card will not run bf4 at max. a 7870 will run it on highish.

On the money you get from not using 32gbs of ram, you can get a 7870, or a 7970/7950.

You don't need a blu ray player, unless you reallllly want it.

For a small enclosure with bad cooling I wouldn't want to have 2 GPUs. You're better off with just one. Also, why that style of case? A mid tower is much better for cooling.

Also, can I output the video card to a receiver without interfering with the quality ?

I would suggest a R9 280x and for a case, me personally i would go with the HAF XM

If you have 1-2 1080p monitor, 2gb of vram is adequate.

You'll be ok with 2gb vram. However, 280x is cheaper and outperforms the 770 in BF4. Also, that ram is expensive. Look for 1866 for cheaper price too.

Get 650W instead. The fx series uses a lot of power.
