Question Mining on a prebuilt

Could I just get some PCIe risers, plug them into the machine, install the GPU's in a frame, install a mining linux distro on it, and mine away, or is there anything else I need to consider? I found plenty with 3 to 5 PCIe lanes, x16 and x1, sometimes x4. Mainly from the sandy bridge to Haswell generation.

You also need crossfire bridges or sli bridges. And psus strong enough

I thought crossfire was not good for mining.

Hahahah actually most miners have found amd to be better cards then nvidia cards for mining... Nvidia gpus arn't as fast at minning. On most things so..... Radeon for the win in that aspect.

I mean I know AMD cards are better than Nvidia (except the 3090) but I thought crossfire and SLI made mining worse.

You don't use bridges you get riser cards similar to these. I don't usually help miners Go to a mining forum.
