Hello there; I have a couple of graphics cards already, so I wanted to get a dedicated rig up for mining. I have already four unused cards; Hd 5970 and 3x HD 7950 graphics cards. These can make some money when put into a rig, enough to make building the components profitable, I believe. Not to mention it will be fun.
I would like to put all four graphics cards in the mobo, perhaps I would even order two more if I can find some risers, although I really know nothing about risers, and have nevr used more than 2 GPUs in a system before.

Heres what I am going for so far; please let me know if anything is suboptimal!

Cards:
1x Hd 5970 $0
3x HD 7950 Sapphire $0
Optional: 1-2x R9 280x MSI $430, or Sapphire R9 290 $506

8GB Kingston Hyper-X RAM $83

Generic HD: $12

Motherboard: Gigabyte 990FXA-W3 - $140 or Asus Sabertooth 990FX $205

Power supply: Seasonic X-serise 1050 $275; or 1050w Gold Plus Cougar GX $214 or Raidmax 1000w gold plus PSU $139

I am not sure about the processor; might be useful to have a better processor to mine another alt-coin during, so maybe I would go for FX 8350 for $207 or AMD SEMPRON 145 for $38, or AMD ATHLON II X3 455 TRIPLE-CORE AM3 3.3GHZ, for $75

Any thoughts are much appreciated! :) - I do think I would need a larger PSU if I ordered more cards, but this setup requires ~840 according to the calculator.
