I let my computer update last night and shut itsself off when it was done. When I went to power it on today it couldn't find my boot drive to load windows. I use a 500g ssd as my boot drive and it defaulted over to one of my hdds. I had to go into my bios and point it back at the proper drive. They are set up as: ssd is sata1 hdd1 is sata3 and hdd2 is sata5. It defaulted to hdd 1 in sata port 3.
My wattage is high on my mobo so I have my gpu power limited and it has been working well this far.
My mobo is going on near 10 years old with the same CMOS battery.
I don't think either of those issues are the problem here, but I am wondering if anybody else has experienced the same situation.

Asus m5a78l-m lx plus

Radeon r9 fury
Corsair 760ax psi

500gb wd ssd
1tb Seagate multimedia(4600?) hdd
250gb Seagate 7200hdd

Solution
10 years is about time cmos could well be the cause.

Windows doesn't really have any control over which drive the bios boots off, so its possible it is the cmos but they normally easy enough to buy/replace.
