I just noticed the latest article on 19" Flat Panels:

http://www6.tomshardware.com/display/20030902/index.html

In the Conclusion section, the last paragraph states:
"There is still the recurring issue of dead pixels. Acer only replaces its 19" monitors when there are ten dead pixels; Iiyama when there are four; Nec when there are three white, three black, or six color dead pixels; Samsung when there are ten, and Sony when there are three white, three black, or seven color. Iiyama has the advantage here, while the company's guarantee policy is still not perfect; it is amazing that Iiyama monitors at the high end of the market can be so poorly guaranteed. "

I think the boat was missed here on the last sentence. The best warranty is not poor, it is the best. I think replacement at 4 dead pixels is damn good.

4 dead pixels is not that bad if the monitor is running at 1600*1200.
