Missing 8th pin on 24 pin connector

Could a missing 8th pin on a 24 pin connector from the psu cause a PC to start then run off again after less then a second?

Are you sure then pin just didn't pop out of the connector ? is this a modular cable which can be replaced ?

You can repair the connector using tools and pins / cables whatever which can be purchased at locations such as frozencpu.com

Hi

On modern psu a white wire supplying . -5 volts . pin 20 is usually missing from the 24 pin motherboard connector.

Any other missing pin indicates a problem

As above 3 options;

1. Are you sure then pin just didn't pop out of the connector ? Solution: Pop it back in

2. Is this a modular cable which can be replaced ? Solution: replace

If the pin and cable is missing entirely, RMA is the only option assuming again, not modular
