Hello,

I just bought my new GTX 780, but when I tried to install it I couldn't. I'm missing a 8 pin cable to power the GPU. I do have a single 6+2 pin, but I would need the 6 pin connector to use on the 6 pin slot... The problem is that my motherboard is using the 8 pin connector, so im left with being unable to install the GPU. I looked into buying a 8 pin to molex cable as I have 2 molex cables who are not being used, but im not sure if that would work, and i really want to know if it will, OR what my other options are.

My power supply is a HKC v-power 450 watt

My gpu is a GTX 780 DIRECT CU II OC edition from ASUS.

I don't know if i should get a new power supply, or buy the molex or try something else... I did recieve a 8 pin to 2x6 pin adapter in the box.

Another thing is that when i install the GPU my PC won't start up anymore, I think it is because of a lack of power, but Í'm not too sure about that either..

Greetings,

Kai

Oh okay, thank you. Im going to try the molex to PCIe adapter cable then, and see if it works out. If it won't ill buy a new PSU.. Can you recommend me a PSU that is both good and not too pricy?

XD

if you want to keep your nice computer components dont even try to use adapters on that crap psu

wait until you get a proper unit

you want a GOOD 500w or better psu with the proper pcie cables

tier 1 or 2 model from this list:

I live in the Netherlands, and I wish to keep the price under 70-80$, preferably around the 70 mark.

Okay thanks!

That definetely will help out. Thanks!
