I don't have his disk. I have an HP laptop and am looking for a way to create a OS disk to re-install (or try to) the Win 07 OS on his computer. I only have 700 mg DVD-R disks available.

You will NOT be able to create a viable windows 7 installation fro your laptop.

I Highly recommend that you do this, or at some point you could be in the same boat!!
On Your laptop, you can do an image of your system disk (located in control Panel, backup), once the system image is created you would be prompted to create a repair disk.
PS - this is tailored to your system, His system will require different drivers most likely and being an OEM install will barf on a different system.

If you have a another friend, see if they have a copy - you can even use a upgrade installation disk.

or
Visit Microsoft downloads and download the correct version. This will be an ISO and will fit on a DVD-R or +R
