Missing Driver for Inspiron 3551

Hi,

I have a missing driver for "Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller" on a Dell Inspiron 3551 Laptop.

The OS is Windows 7 64 bit.

Could someone tell me where I can get the driver as all the ones I have tried so far have not worked.

Is it an intel laptop. Try with the chipset inf installer from intel download center.

Just go to Dells website and download the driver. It will be the chipset driver.

Thanks to everyone for their response.

I have already installed both chipset drivers but the problem persists. Any ideas what I could try next?

On occasion, I've had luck using a driver from a similar specced Vostro model or using the driver from a different Windows version and installing it in compatibility mode.

Would like to thank you all for your input. Eventually got it working by searching for the USB 3.0 driver for this processor.

The OS should have installed that on it's own.

Windows 7 doesn't come with USB3 drivers, you have to install by yourself. From Windows 8 you have built in USB3 drivers.
