Ok, I am trying to help my gf that seems to be missing files from one of her folders in her laptop.
The files were definitely here 2 days ago.
Some of the files were created using OneNote and she was able to retrieve some of them using OneNote 'find/restore backups' option (or whatever it's called), but not all of them. Also a bunch of other files are missing from that same folder and some sub-folders have also disappeared.
She checked the Trash and they are not there. Ran AVG anti-virus, and no virus found. The folder is set to show all hidden files and folders. She did a full computer search with the missing files' names and nothing was found.
The only thing that I noticed that seems a bit suspicious is that this folder was set as 'Shared' but only her account had permission to modify files. We were connected to an unsecured network at my hotel this week-end.
Under 'Advanced sharing' options, everything was unchecked.
Any idea? She had some pretty important/personal files in there and I am not too sure what else to do...
