Question Missing files on backup ssd

I have a Seagate backup plus portable ssd drive that I use as backup on a win 10 system.
It should have a system image and other files, my doc's, downloads, etc on it. When I open it, there are only 4 items that were on the drive when I bought it.
This pc shows that 46GB of space is being used on the drive. The 4 items I can see are not even close to 1 GB.
I have run CHKDSK, no problem with drive.
I have clicked show hidden files, no help there.
Any ideas what could be going on with this drive?
Thanks in advance.

What pic? Show us a pic.

Are you using the backup application that came with the Seagate? Have you been using it successfully in the past?

What tool did you use to make that system image?

Don't see how a pic would show anything more that what I put in the post.
No Seagate app was used.
The system image was made with the tool build into windows.

The Windows imaging tool is "deprecated" in Microsoft's own words. They suggest you use something else.

It has some peculiar quirks that may be confusing. With no more to go on, my guess would be that you fell victim to one of its quirks and an image never arrived on the Seagate drive.

Ran windirstat, can see the missing file names in the panel to the right. Not all, but most have a grey box to the left of the name. If the means anything.
Going to use AOEMI Backupper to make another system image on a different backup ssd I have.
Have been trying some different CMD commands, but no luck.
May just buy a new drive, nothing on this one I can't duplicate and not sure I could trust it in the future.
