i swore i would never do this, but it seemed like a good idea at the
time...

a couple of users i inherited are still on w98. they'll be getting new pc's
next fiscal quarter. but in the meantime, we want them upgraded. so, i hit
the first one today. i didn't want to spend a lot of time, so instead of
reformatting and installing clean. i just did an in-place upgrade to w2k.

BIG MISTAKE!

i knew it'd be messy, but it also just takes longer (afaic). but, she's 100%
functional, finally. the problem is, the icons for 'my computer', 'network
places' and 'recycle bin' are missing, replaced with generic windows icons.
well, i know how to fix this. i downloaded tweakui 1.33 and rebuilt the icon
cache. too bad that didn't work. so i'll run sfc and let it repair that way.
no dice there, either.

i've spent so much time on this freakin' box, i don't wanna format and start
over (although that would probably be the smart thing to do). so, can anyone
help me get these icons back?

thx!
