Missing icons when using search function in Windows 10?

So recently (today), I've noticed that when I use the windows 10 search function, icons for programs I search for display an "x". This is for every program I've tried. Has anyone experienced this / know a fix for it? Not sure what caused this, as I have just noticed it

I am having the exact same problem and have tried everything. Reseting thumbnails, icon cache, ccleaner, reinstalling windows, multiple disk cleaner things in windows, way way more. What is causing this?? I need help and have been struggling for multiple hours with this.

I suggest making a new post about it as the only people likely to look at this one are those already involved. That and its an old post and its nicer to start fresh. If you give me a link, I will see what I can do.
